Associate Attorney
JOB DESCRIPTION: Arthur Law Firm is looking to hire an associate attorney with 0-2 years of experience. You will work in a fast-paced, but high-reward, environment. You will be given full support to learn, develop and grow, and be in charge of your own caseload. Therefore, the ideal candidate must be an excellent writer, extremely organized, and comfortable talking on the phone with clients, opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, mediators, and judges.
We are also a tech-savvy law firm that is always looking to improve our performance and efficiency. We strive to be paperless, and we use a variety of software programs to help us reach that goal. These include Centerbase for case management, Worldox for document management, iPads for case files, and Kenect and Levitate for client communication, and MS Office for word processing, e-mail, and analytics.
OFFICE DESCRIPTION: Arthur Law Firm was founded in 1969 By Rodney M. Arthur. Arthur Law Firm has been a mainstay in Northwest Ohio, employing several lawyers, paralegals, legal assistants and other support staff over the years. We handle personal injury, social security disability, criminal defense, probate litigation, and adoption cases. We are selective with the cases we accept so we can focus on client satisfaction. SKILLS: The ideal candidate must be proficient in Microsoft applications, have excellent time-management skills, be able to efficiently multi-task, work well under pressure, and be personable. From meeting new clients to making litigation decisions, the associate will handle all aspects of their cases . Job duties will include interviewing potential clients; drafting pleadings; propounding and answering discovery; drafting and arguing motions; attending court and arbitration hearings; taking and defending depositions; and negotiating settlements .
EXPERIENCE: Law school graduate, and 0-2 years of experience.
COMPENSATION: The base salary starts at $70,000.00, plus objective monthly performance-based bonuses.

FLEXIBILITY, AUTONOMY, AND SUPPORT: You will work initially at the Defiance office. You will also have an office at our Maumee and Toledo locations, with the goal of eventually working primarily in one of these locations. You will work on cases from start to finish with support from our full-time intake specialist, paralegals, office manager, and other support professionals. The support staff team is here to help make your work easier and more efficient.
